That'd give me room for standard sliders on the cab as well. Of course any future work will be determined by my Medical budget but it doesn't stop my mind from dreaming and scheming.

| Run Chinaman again and see if it "self adjusts". ![]() I trimmed so I could mount my sliders flush and love them. The sliders are a real confidence builder and let you worry about things besides sheet metal.

| These are the kind of mods I like because they are about the cheapest. It's just the cost of steel and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. Let me know if you figure out what you want for steel and I can help you get some for a good price. What about cutting out the rockers and replacing them with 3/8" flat steel plate. Cut the bedsides up so that you can weld a piece of plate or square tube on the bottom of the bedsides flushed up with the bottom of the new rockers. On the back side of the inner part of the bedsides run some angled risers up to the bedfloor bolted to the bedfloor with at least 6" square plates to keep them from tearing through. Maybe even cut a piece of steel diamond plate to weld to the outside of the bedside to reinforce it. My concern would be crushing the bedside sheet metal even after adding some sort of slider. IMO you're going to need to add extra bracing like I mentioned above. Why waste all the effort on the DQ? I have a nicely built K30 sitting in my yard. The rental fee is extremely cheap. It even has a nice wrap with cool graphics and a name...... | |||||||||||

| Shit, I'd worry more about the other things the "headboard cowboy" did in that truck.... The seats alone have followed him for like 10yrs and 3 vehicles. | |||||||||||
