Grim did it way back. His write up from CK5 is here. I don't think that he is there much anymore - he wheels a Yote now.

Wow. That write-up literally walked me through it. Theres quite a few good detailed write-ups on there, and Pirate... The only problem with Pirate is you gotta be able to filter through the BS to get the good info.

Nice link Chad, that's the same write up I used to install the 203 solid shaft. Eric wrote it in a way that allows any 1st timer to complete the installation without difficulty.

It helps when you know where to look.

thanks guys, but i put it in the day after i posted this and didnt check up on it, on what to do, but with just a break down view of the transfercase in a chevy book and a 1980s superwinch instructions that were from the kit my dad installed in his 78k-10. they didnt help, but i went slow and it took alot of thinking and taking apart stuff that u allready put together once. it was all that hard, i didnt use the sims thow, the shaft was pretty snug, so i think everything will be ok, i hope i put the roller bearings in the right spot too. i also replaced the rear seal and the rear seal in my 12bolt rear, so i can stop leaking down the drive way and i forgot to replace the front seal for the front yoke, i will do that when i pay $120 for my front driveline be rebuilt(the double u joint and ball thing is wore out) i replaced the front u joint too.

the only thing im worried about is that someone have been filling the transfercase with atf and i been adding moter oil, so i hope that didnt mess anything up. it calls for 10-w30 at auto zone, i thought gear oil but i was wrong.

I had to try out the 4x4 and i love it. i just have to figure out the gears, i think its all the way up is 4L,2L,N,2H,4H. thats how he had it ordered, so i will go by that. no pics, sorry

The 203 uses standard motor oil so 10w-30 is correct.

If your interested, by experimenting I have found Rotella-T 15w-40 heavy duty oil to be the best for my 203. But that is just my opinion having run it with various oils and weights. Mike actually recommended Rotella because they still put zinc in it, I'd say he was correct. My 203 case used to run hot to the touch after wheeling. With the Rotella it does not heat up at all.

Interesting thread on the zinc content of this oil over on a motorcycle board: Rotella T 15W-40 CJ-4/SM with Triple Protection - Bob Is The Oil Guy
