We all went for a little drive to a gravel pit to burn some wood pallets and roast wieners. Had a good time.

My truck still wont restart when its warm. Once it starts it runs great! I thought it might be flooding so I shut off the fuel pump and let it idle till it died. It would no start till it fully cooled off (2 hours or so) and even then it took about 2 minutes of cranking. I have killed 2 starters already and am running out of spares. When it is cold it fires right up like a champ. I'm kinda stumped. Its getting plenty of power as I'm using a 12 volt CAT battery with 1/0 welding cable.

Any help would be appreciated...

If it's not fuel or compression, then it must be spark. Sounds to me like it's a heat/expansion problem relating to spark delivery. I'm sure you checked all of the obvious things, so I'm going to say check the coil by pulling the coil wire while cranking. If you have an old spare, throw that in just to see if it changes the problem.

I have an HEI distributor... its not the coil wire it could be a bad coil in the cap, or maybe a bad cap. its just weird that it runs great until I shut it down then nothing....
