Good*Stock rear suspension shackles. They are good because all of the geometry is already figured out for you; just drive it.
Better*Shackle flip.*
The easiest way to get 4 inches of lift out of the rear of your 73-87 Chevy is to convert the rear to a compression style shackle. To do that you must [...]

Not sure how to do it.

It's not that hard to do. The only real tough part is getting off your rear factory shackle hanger brackets. They're held onto the frame with steel rivets that GM so loved to use all over these older trucks. The easiest way I found to remove them is to cut an X in the head of the rivet and then either use an air hammer or large chisel to smack the heads clean off.
The rear shackle hanger bracket is replaced with an aftermarket bracket, DIY4X, Offroad Design, SKY Offroad and Twizted Engineering all make shackle flip kits. Basically your rear shackle will go from being pointed up towards the body(tension style shackle) and wind up pointed down away from the body(compression style shackle). Some of the companies use the bracket to achieve the specific amount of lift and other use a combination of bracket & shackle length to get the lift.
It is usually easier to do a shackle flip with the gas tank out for access to inside of the framerails where the fasteners will go, plus having it out is nice when you're throwing sparks all over the place.
If the rear of your truck is sagging with the factory springs now, you will probably be a little low in the rear still after a shackle flip install. Maybe plan on adding a 1" zero rate style block to leaf spring pack to get a level sitting truck.

Here's what it looks like before shackle flip

And after...

Is that a 6 inch shakle flip because of the bracket?

That is Offroad Designs 4" flip. They only make a 4" or a 2.5".

Yes, there's several guys that have done this over on CK5. The factory brackets are not as beefy as the aftermarket stuff but heck they're plenty strong still. If you use the factory hangers you'll probably just need to play around with the shackle length a little to get the right amount of lift & proper shackle angle.
